Whoever
hears Dubai thinks about all the superlatives this
city has been associated with. Unique developments
based on innovation and groundbreaking ideas, in
and around the desert and sea areas, have contributed
in putting Dubai on the world’s map, The development
of this small desert state, to a booming modern
metropolis is unique. With the oil as a fizzy finance
source and the visions of Al Maktoum family, Dubai
has been transformed by specialists in all fields
and from around the globe.
In
addition to 360 sunny days, many months with comfortable
climates, clean white sandy beaches and convenient
flight timetables to and from the European metropolises;
all this makes Dubai a real paradise, not too far
from your own doorstep. Moreover, Dubai offers security,
tax freedom and is a service oriented market. The
lives of locals and foreigners from more than 180
countries run peacefully side by side. |

Life
in Dubai has changed drastically over the past few
years. The city grows at all corners and ends, in
the water, at the water, into the desert, upward
and downward. In Dubai more happens in one day,
than in most cities around world in one month. This
makes life interesting and painstakingly difficult
at the same time. Daily changed traffic routes,
new projects, new companies, new regulations, new
shops, new restaurants…Dubai lives progress.
Last year 290,000 people moved to Dubai and this
is an incredibly difficult task to master for nearly
any other city on the globe. Naturally these changes
bring positives and negatives along the line.
Traffic is a major issue that
concerns everyone living in the city and Salik
is one solution that will be implemented on July
1st. In addition, Dubai is relentlessly constructing
new roads to relieve traffic; it is also building
the world’s most advanced metro system,
which is set to begin working end of 2009.
You want Italian furniture, the
newest German luxury car or the latest designer
collection - sold out. Orders may take up 3 to
months to reach Dubai; consequently, you have
to make up your mind fast as this is the trend
in Dubai. You would like to book a hotel by the
beach on a short notice? – fully booked.
Looking for an affordable place to rent, good
luck with that as well, you will need it.
Take a deep breath, take a walk
on the beaches of Jumeirah to unwind, enjoy sunrise
at the Creek or sunset at one of the bars at the
many beach hotels and watch the sun disappear
into the sea. Fill up your car with fuel without
ever leaving it, take pleasure in shopping until
late at night, benefit from the large variety
of restaurants and cuisines, stride across the
goldsouk, play golf on many of the world’s
finest fairways or treat yourself with a day at
the Spa and then ask yourself, could I do all
this back home?
Dubai is a melting pot where the
Multimillionaire who changes his car every now
and then, encounters many "normal" people
as well as the construction worker from Bangladesh,
who lives in very poor conditions. Everyone came
here by choice, with a dream and a goal they would
like to accomplish. As Dubai carries out its vision,
it gives many people the chance to improve their
life. This brings a positive atmosphere to the
city, where working hours are long, but the parties
last longer. Envy is an unknown word; everyone
is responsible for their own good fortune.
Dubai is marvelous, eccentric,
but yet again so normal. It is a city that one
must experience to love, a city with a magical
spell that will not let you leave. Dubai is really
exciting; will you be part of the dream?
